As we step into a new school year at SATINO, we are filled with excitement and optimism for what lies ahead. With fresh goals, new faces, and continued support from our global community, we are committed to making 2025 a year of growth and success for our students. From academic advancements to athletic aspirations, there’s a lot to look forward to!
The first week of school at SATINO has kicked off, and it’s been an amazing experience so far! After a one-month holiday, the students were eager to return to their classrooms, full of energy and enthusiasm. We were also delighted to welcome a new group of volunteers. Theo, Timeo, and Maxime from Exelia Business School in France are supporting our teachers, while Frider and Fill from Germany are contributing to various organizational tasks.
Looking ahead, our objectives for 2025 include further developing the SATINO Primary School plans, preparing our girls’ football team for the Chipukizi Tournament in December, and working towards obtaining a license to participate in the prestigious Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) tournament. These initiatives aim to provide our students with more opportunities to grow and excel, both academically and athletically.
We are also thrilled to host a Canadian family as part of a cultural exchange program. Over the next three weeks, mom and dad will be volunteering at the school, while their children will join our students in the classroom, fostering cross-cultural learning and friendships.
Enrollment is off to a promising start, with 10 new students already joining us. We anticipate welcoming up to 30 more by the end of March as students return from their holiday break. This growth wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of donors like the Dikkie & Dik school in The Netherlands, whose contributions have helped us provide essential supplies and meals, ensuring a strong start to the school year.
